Students will be introduced to the structure and significance of Nahjul Balagha, its compiler al-Sharif al-Radi, and the historical and spiritual context of the sermons, letters, and short sayings it contains. They will explore themes such as divine justice, the nature of the self, the responsibilities of leadership, the corrupting effects of power, and the role of knowledge in building a just society. Through guided reflections on selected passages, students will discover how Imam Ali (a)’s words offer deep insight into both personal ethics and public responsibility. The course will also highlight how his eloquence isn’t just literary—it’s a mirror of divine truth conveyed through a heart purified by servitude to Allah.
