The Mainstay Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works on a national level to serve the advancement of the American Shia Muslim community. The foundation has made its mission to look at the building blocks of our communities, the ideas, people, and organizations, and commit its resources to their growth and development. 

Position:  Administrative Assistant

Type: Part-time 20-25 hrs/wk

Positions Available: 2

Compensation:$11-$13 / hr

Location:7713 Schaefer Rd. Dearborn, MI 48126

Job Summary:

The administrative assistant will provide support to managers and employees through a variety of administrative tasks to ensure efficient office operations. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Produce and distribute office memos and emails
  • Research and create presentations
  • Contribute written content on organizational updates for distribution
  • Greet and provide general support to visitors
  • Take accurate meeting notes
  • Maintain supply inventory
  • Carryout administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying etc.
  • Handle travel and event arrangements
  • Receive, sort and distribute mail
  • Ensure maintenance of office equipment and schedule service when needed

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency and tactfully with a diverse group of individuals
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite
  • Previous administrative experience preferred
  • Must submit a writing sample ( short story, essay, etc)
